.The one shown here represents Augustus' birth zodiac, Capricorn. Interestingly, it shows Capricorn with the world in its hands along with a rudder and cornucopia perched on its back that could imply many different things. Perhaps steering the world, or traveling the world.
Remember the Chinese observed a comet in Capricorn in March of 5 BCE during the time of Passover. The Chinese comet is the ONLY ancient reporting of anything that could have been the Star. The Magi could have easily took this as a bad omen for Augustus, their rival in the region, and an opportunity to reach out to coming king of the Jews foretold in another celestial omen, the eclipse of the Passover Moon that occurred at the same time. I believe the Magi were very focused on existing rulers like Herod and Augustus along with up and comers like Jesus, who could be a potential ally against Herod and Rome.
The Talmud states that the patriarchs were born and died during Nissan, our March/April. We know Jesus died during Passover. If the Talmud is right, Jesus was also born during the Passover month of Nissan. This coin, minted around 16 BCE, is from Vilmar Numismatics, and is available for sale, along with other ancient coins, at their website https://vilmarnumismatics.com. 14 years ago I became interested in the date that Jesus was born. This led to several years of research, I quickly realized that there was no valid information that provided any real answers to this question. Since this website is getting some interest I will post from time to time some of the information I learned during this quest.
